Teachers and students of the department at KNU EXPO
On May 16, the university-wide Open Day took place, and among the many university locations, the Department of Nuclear Physics and High Energy Physics also presented its work.
The day was filled with engaging conversations and new acquaintances. Many interested high school students visited the department’s location, and it was a real pleasure to talk with them about studying, science, student life, and future career opportunities. The visitors actively asked questions about academic programs, research, practical training, student activities, and professional development opportunities in the fields of nuclear energy and high energy physics.
It was especially nice to meet students who had previously visited our department during экскурsions and returned again because they are still considering applying to our department. It was inspiring to see how their interest in the field had grown and how many new questions they had.
During the event, guests also had the opportunity to get acquainted with some of the equipment used in education and research. In particular, they observed the operation of an ultrasonic flaw detector — a device used for non-destructive testing of materials and equipment at nuclear power plants.
The department’s students also shared their own experiences of participating in scientific conferences, internships, and research projects, and spoke about the opportunities that studying at the department provides.
Special attention was given to the international NURECAB project, aimed at developing educational programs in the fields of nuclear energy and radiation safety. The lecturers spoke about the goals and objectives of the project, its importance for the Ukrainian educational community, and the opportunities it creates for students in scientific research and international cooperation.
We sincerely thank everyone who visited the Department of Nuclear Physics during KNU EXPO 2025!
See you again!
