The 10th anniversary Summer Nuclear School 2026 has ceremonially concluded at the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant.

This educational project of Energoatom annually brings together students from specialised higher education institutions, researchers, and nuclear industry professionals. This year, 45 students from Ukraine’s leading technical universities took part in the school.

Over two weeks, participants explored modern nuclear energy, safety culture, and the operation of the Khmelnytskyi NPP. The programme included lectures, practical classes, tours of the industrial site and the training centre, meetings with leading industry experts, and presentations of the students’ own research.

O. Horbachenko, a lecturer at the Department of Nuclear Physics and High Energy, took part in the school as a student supervisor and lecturer. His participation was supported through the NURECAB project (GA No. 101173510), funded by the European Union under the Euratom Research and Training Programme (Horizon Europe).

At the closing ceremony, the winners of the scientific presentation competition were announced. First place was awarded to Denys Klekots, a student of the Department of Nuclear Physics and High Energy at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

The Summer Nuclear School 2026 has once again demonstrated that investing in young people means investing in the future of Ukraine’s nuclear energy sector.
