Open Day at our department

The Department hosted an Open Day for students of grades 8, 10, and 11 who are interested in physics, modern technologies, and educational opportunities in technical and natural sciences fields.

The event began with introductory presentations delivered by the Department’s academic staff. During their talks, the lecturers introduced participants to the Department’s educational and research activities, the specifics of the study programs, current research projects, and the opportunities available to students throughout their academic journey.

Particular interest among the visitors was generated by presentations from undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students, who shared their personal educational experiences and stories of professional development. The participants learned about student involvement in research projects, scientific conferences, international exchange programs, and research internships. To provide a more vivid impression, the students presented personal photographs and shared experiences from their academic and research visits abroad, helping prospective applicants gain a better understanding of the opportunities offered by the Department.

The meeting also included information about academic mobility programs, international internships, and future career prospects for graduates.

The practical part of the event gave school students an opportunity to become acquainted with scientific equipment. During an interactive demonstration, participants were introduced to the operating principles of a spectrometer, learned about its applications in scientific research, and observed the measurement process in real time.

The Open Day provided an excellent opportunity for prospective applicants to communicate with lecturers and students, receive answers to their questions, and learn more about academic studies, research activities, and student life at the Department.

Special attention was given to the international NURECAB project, aimed at developing educational programs in the fields of nuclear energy and radiation safety. The lecturers spoke about the goals and objectives of the project, its importance for the Ukrainian educational community, and the opportunities it creates for students in scientific research and international cooperation.
